رواية زوالي من الروايات القصيرة 100 صفحة ، جاءت الفكرة من لفظ زوالي الشائع في الجزائر والذي كان يدلّ سابقا على الرجل البسيط الفقير الذي يكدّ و يتعب ليعيل أسرته ويبني مستقبله، رجل صالح محارب لا يرضى المال الحرام لتتحوّل مع الوقت إلى لفظ يختبئ خلفه كلّ مفسد وكسول يرفض العمل لكنّه يريد المال السهل ، بل اصبحت الكلمة مبرّرا للمغتصب والمتحرّش والمعتدي والمرتشي وغيرهم ، يبرّرون بها لجوءهم للجريمة بحجة الفقر.
الرواية تحاكي قصة نجاح صنفين من الزواولة (جمع زوالي باللهجة الجزائرية)، أحدهما أصبح وزيرا فاسدا والآخر ضحية أخلاقه الطيبة وفي خضم الصراع الاجتماعي تشتعل نيران الانتقام، الحب، مرارة الظّلم، الاكتئاب والسعادة، لنجد أنفسنا نتساءل في النهاية هل ينتصر الخير دائما؟ هل يغيّر الحب الإنسان؟ وهل العفو يشفي جراح الإنسان؟
ستبكي وأنت تقرأ هذه الرواية و ستضحك أحيانا لكنّك ستخرج منها شخصا آخر ولن تخرج الرواية منك أبدا...
