مجموعة قصصية؛ تتكون من 17 قصة قصيرة، قصص شُكِّلَتْ شخصياتُها وأحداثُها من البُعدين الاجتماعي الواقعي والمادي، وأثرهما على القيم والإنسانية والذات والعلاقات الاجتماعية. مقتطف: "...وبعد شرودٍ في الخذلانِ والذكريات البائسة توقَّدَ في داخلي الغضب، وقمتُ ماشيًا والعين شرارةُ لهب، والقدم سيفٌ بتَّارٌ يُقسِّمُ الشوارع على الوقتْ. ورغم أنّي لم ألتقي مُرادي إلا أني أردعُ الشفقة، إنَّ الشفقة كالإعلانِ عن موت النفس، في بعض الأحيان تُمزّقُ إحساس الشخص أشدَّ من الظُلم!. وبعد أن طفح الكيل وزاد الويل، بدأتُ أتجول في كل الأماكن من أسواقٍ وشوارعٍ ومرافقٍ. غير أن الجميع مشغول بأعماله ولا من أحدٍ يحتاج مساعدةً أو خادِماً!، بعضُ البخلاء يفعلون كل شيءٍ بأنفسهم أكثر من الفقراء المغلوبُ عن أمرهم..."
