اعْلَم أَن الْإِنْسَان إِذا صدر مِنْهُ فعل أَو ترك ؛ فَإِنَّهُ يحصل أَولاً فِي قلبه اعْتِقَاد أَنه نَافِع أَو ضار ،ثمَّ يتَوَلَّد من اعْتِقَاد كَونه نَافِعًا ميل إِلَى التَّحْصِيل ،وَمن اعْتِقَاد كَونه ضارًا ميل إِلَى التّرْك ، ثمَّ تصير الْقُدْرَة مَعَ ذَلِك الْميل مُوجبَة، إِمَّا للْفِعْل ، أَو للترك .
إِذا ثَبت ذَلِك ، فالتوبة كَذَلِك ، فَإِن الرجل إِذا اعْتقد أَن فعل الْمعْصِيَة يُوجب الضَّرَر الْعَظِيم ؛ ترَتّب على حُصُول هَذَا الِاعْتِقَاد نفرة عَنهُ.
والتَّوْبَة: وَاجِبَة على العَبْد ، لقَوْله تَعَالَى :{ تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحًا }[التحريم :8]
وَهِي مَقْبُولَة قطعًا ، لقَوْله تَعَالَى: { وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ }[الشورى: 25].
