"هذه (روان) - مجموعتي الشعرية الأولى - تنطلق في كل مسافات البوح، وتناجي كل أطياف الأمل في محاولة لتحريك سكون العاصفة، وإستنهاض هممٍ أوشكت على الهلاك.
(روان) صرخة مزلزلة تنوعت خرباتها، وتباينت شدتها ولكنها ماضية في عزف سيمفونية الجراح، ورسم لوحات النسيان في زمن الغياب، وفي عالم يحكمه الدم، وتغلب عليه الحرقة، رسائل للأمة، رسائل للإنسان، رسائل للطفولة، رسائل للحرمان، رسائل للمدافع، رسائل للغربة، رسائل للروح، رسائل للجسد، رسائل للإعاقة، رسائل لكل بارقة أمل قد تعيد الزمن الجميل".
بهذه العبارات يقدم الشاعر حمدان سالم العنزي ديوانه الشعري (روان) وبقراءة متأنية للقصائد، يبدو الشاعر قد استحضر اسم ابنته (روان) إلى داخل النص لتأسيس ما يسمى بحضور "بنية قصيدة الشخصية" في النص الشعري، المرتكز على التداعيات الشعورية، والتحديد، وهو الأهم، لموقع الأنا داخل القصيدة، على وفق محددات نصية بنائية تتكأ إلى حد ما على التسمية والحضور الواقعي للشخصية (روان / الإبنة) في حياة (الشاعر / الأب)، وكما يقول الشاعر: "إنها بإختصار: ملهمتي - ربان سفينتي - إنها لغتي - مفرداتي - صوري الشعرية بل هي الشعر كله لا لشيء سوى أنها روان".
يقول الشاعر في القصيدة المعنونة بــ (روان): "ما زلتُ أبحث في الاوطان عن ذاتي... ما زلتُ أسأل عن أسرار مأساتي"... "ما زِلَتُ ألبس ثوب الصمت معتقداً... أني سأملأ من صمتي فضاءاتي"... "ألهو فأنقش فوق الماء أُغنيتي... كأنما الماء بعضُ من ضلالاتي".
يضم الكتاب قصائد في الشعر العربي الموزون والمقفى توزعت تحت العناوين الرئيسية الآتية: - مقدمة (لماذا روان؟!)، يتبع ذلك، 1-إستئذان، 2-للوطن أغني، 3-طفولة، 4-هموم، 5-مشاعر، 6-تغريدات حرة.
