في ثنايا هذا الكتاب مجموع قصص قصيرة وقصائد ضمن هواجس "تركي الرويثي" ولواعجه وإشراقاته وأشواقه التي يبثها من خلال صور يرسمها للأصدقاء والأهل والوطن، يطل منها على مسائل وهموم حياتية يومية تشغل المواطن العربي؛ تبدأ بالبحث عن عمل كما في القصة الأولى "تُباع المطر" وصولاً الى مظاهر مختلفة اتسمت بها مجتمعات العالم العربي من فساد وروتين إداري، وفوضى انتهازية فإنسان اليوم أصبح يساوى فلساً في قصة "وأصبحت انتهازياً" يقول منصور محاوراً صديقه زياد: "... أتعلم يا زياد، بأني أستطيع أن أسرق من الأموال ما أريد ولكني لم أفعل، أخشى يوقفني رجل مرور ويسأنلي عن رخصتي، فأجيبه "وش فلوسه" على مبدأ "وش تيسه" (...)".
يضم الكتاب (17) قصة قصيرة وكذلك قصيدة جاءت بلغة مزجت ما بين الشعر والنثر عبر مرآة اللغة والدلالات والتوصيف الدقيق لشخصيات يطغى الاغتراب الداخلي لشخوصها وتتشابه طبقياً واجتماعياً في موقعها وواقعها، وجميعها تعاني من عاطفة مثبطة متيجة الفوضى والاضطراب الذي يسود عالم اليوم في علاقات الأفراد فيما بينهم أو في علاقتهم بالمجتمع والسلطة. يقول في قصيدة بعنوان (وتوقف المطر).
"قراءة للوحة لم ترسم بعد/ في مدينة ما،/ حيث لا تاريخ ولا قانون يحمي، / ينهمر المطر / مطر بدون غيوم ولا رعود / ملأ الرعب وجوه الناس/ بدأت الأرحل تُسيِّر الأجساد والعقول/ الكل يركض نحو لا اتجاه...".
تعالوا هنــا, في غرفتي الصغيرة.
تجاهلوا الفوضى, لا تعيروها انتباها, لا تحكموا على الأشياء الكبيرة من توافه الأمور.
لا تكونوا كتلك المرأة التي حكمت على بتهوفن من أظافره, تركت موسيقاه واهتمت بأظافره قالت "كيف أستمع لموسيقاه وقد رأيت أظافره متسخة هكذا".
أجلسوا حيث شئتم, لا شيء غير كتبي ومجلاتي وتبغي.
