«رختون» نص روائي إشكالي هو تعبير فني جديد ينتج – لا محالة – صيغة جديدة لرؤية الأشياء، يعتمد تفسيره على منطق كل قارئ وثقافته، وبالتالي حساسيته الفنية الخالصة، التي ستترافق مع حالة الشك والقلق والحيرة للأفكار التي حمَّلها السرد لبطل الرواية رختون وعالمه المفتوح على مصراعيه، والذي يشكل في النهاية إطلالة على أحداث كبرى في عالم أرضي لا ينفك البشر يبحثون فيه عن أجوبة: لِمْ أوجدنا الله؟ وهل هو بحاجة إلينا؟ ولِمَ نحن في حاجة إليه؟ ما فائدة الحرف ألف؟ ولِمَ نتعلمه؟ لماذا القتل؟ وغيرها من أسئلة هي نفسها التي شغلت الفتى رختون منذ ولادته وحتى شبابه والذي يبدو أن لديه قصةً جعلت الناس يظنونه مجنوناً، إلاَّ أنه يتمتع بقدرات فائقة وبحكمة وعلم تجعله يرى الأشياء قبل حدوثها، يخترق الأمكنة والأزمنة ويقول ما كان وما سيكون!!
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ:
"ولد رختون في عامٍ من الأعوام الماضية في قريةٍ نائيةٍ اسمها الجهراء، يحيط بها من شرقها بحرٌ ومن غربها وشمالها وجنوبها صحراء ومعسكرات للجيش. وُلدَ هذا الطفل لأبٍ وأم وأخوات جميلات، رحلت عنهم والدتهم في الصغر وتركتهم وحيدين يبحثون عنها في زوايا البيت، وفي أحلامهم وعالمهم الذي اختفت عنه شمسُها برحيلها! وكان رختون هو الابن الوحيد للأسرة. وتوالت أحداثٌ حدثت لي كالتي في المدرسة، وحادثة وفاة والدتي وتلك الممرضة إلى أن جلستُ أقرأ هذه الرواية فأصابني الذعر منها فرميتها وعدت في الحال إلى أخواتي (...)، توجهت إلى ذلك الفراش الذي كان يحملني عن الأرض ليسير بي في عالم أحلامي وكأنه بساط علاء الدين الذي حلَّق به من عالم إلى عالم آخر. فاستلقيت عليه بعد أن أمسكتها وقلت: الآن سأعرف ما هو مستقبلي. ثم ذهبتُ إلى الصفحة التي أُمسك بها حاضري بيدي، أريد أن أكتشف مستقبلي ثم قرأت أني أقرأ...".
