جعلتُ ديدني في هذا الكتاب اقتفاء أثر من سبقوني من الأساتذة الفضلاء الذين كانوا حريصين على تجميع مقالاتهم في مصنفاتٍ مستقلة . يقول أ. د. مازن المبارك في تقديمه لكتاب " عصارة فكر وتجربة " : " ما زلتُ أذكر وصية الأستاذ محمد كرد علي – رحمه الله - : " ينبغي للكاتب أن يحرص على جمع مقالاته المنشورة والموزّعة بين الصحف والمجلات في كتاب يضمّها ، وقال: إنه كان يحثّ أصحابه وأصدقاءه ومعارفه من العلماء والأدباء والكتّاب على جمع مقالاتهم لئلا تنسى أو تضيع " .
فعلى خطاهم نسير- نحن صغار الأدب والعلم - وعلى دأبهم نحرص ،ومُنى النّفس أن يكون ما جُمع في هذا الكتاب نافعا ومفيدًا لمن سيطلع عليه ، وأن لا يكون ضربًا من ضروب الهدر والعبث الذي صارت تئنّ تحت وطأته الساحة الأدبية والفكرية .
