نفحاته عربية أصيلة... كأصالة دجلة والفرات، ومفرداته حرة طليقة تناشد الإباء والأباة، وتلتمس الحرية وتغني للحياة، استوحى لهيبها من جذوة كلمات جده راية الثوار، حسين الإباء ومنارة الأحرار..
مدائحه قبس من القرآن، ووصفه صور فجت كلوم الزمان، وما أجرت به النوائب على أهل بيت الشهادة من محن وأشجان، عندما حل بهم قضاء الله وبلاء الدنيا ومكر الزمان، فجاءت قريحته المعطاء بتقليب مواجعهم وإحياء فواجعهم، والتغني بمآثرهم.
