نظرًا إلى تعدد استخدام مصطلح ( الخطاب ) بصفته مصطلحا معرفيا معقدًا في مجالات علمية واجتماعية وفلسفية ولسانية عريضة ومتنوعة ، فقد نبهت الدراسة إلى أمرين : تقاطعه فلسفيًا مع مصطلح ( العقل ) ؛ لارتباطه بالمعنى وتخلصه مما هو ظني ونسبي ومتغير ، ومن ثم يدمج الفلاسفة الخطاب في العقل والخطابي في العقلاني وهذا يستدعي حضور العقل بصفته فعالية فكرية ومعرفية ؛ هو من يتكلم عن الجنون وهو من يصفه .
