يعد الفكر الإسلامي كنز ثمين, وأصداف متلألئة من النظرة الشمولية للإنسان والكون والمبدأ والمعاد والغيب, إلى جانب القضية الأساس وهي قضية الألوهية وهي الوحي والنبوة. ومجموع هذه القضايا يشكل الركيزة الذهنية للأمة, والتصور الفكري القائم على الثبات والربانية, والتوازن, والإيجابية, والواقعية, والتوحيد, وهي بمجملها تكون خصائص الفكر والتصور الإسلاميين. ويقوم هذا الكتاب على بابين أساسيين, هما: نظرية الخصائص الكلية للفكر الإسلامي والميدان التطبيقي لها. دراسات في القواعد المتفرعة عن النظرية الفروع والأغصان والثمرات. وكل باب يتفرع إلى عدة فصول توضح ضوابط الفكر في الاسلام, ومعاييره الثابتة, وطرائقه, ووسائله, وقواعده. كما درس الكتاب بالتفصيل قاعدة التوسط ومفهوم الشورى في الإمامة العظمى, وختم كتابه بالحديث عن نشأة الدولة, وقوانين قيامها, وبقائها, وزوالها, مع التعريج على السنن الإلهية, والقوانين الناظمة. وفي هذه البحوث نظرات عميقة, وقبس من التجديد والإبداع, وذلك بتوفيق من الله, وتأييد منه (والذين جاهدوا فينا لنهدينهم سبلنا وإن الله لمع المحسنين).
