فإنّ للذهن من الأحوال ما يُشتاق فيه مرّة إلى الحفظ، وتارة يَعرض له شيءٌ سمّيته بالجوع الذّهني، وهو تَشوَّقُه إلى تفكيك المسائل المعقدّة، والبحث في الأمور الغامضة، وتارة يودّ أن يريح نفسه ليّدع الخيال يَسبح في آماله، وآونةً يَحِنّ إلى أخبار العلماء السّابقين.
