مجموعة قصصيّة خلّاقة، تنّم عن خيال خصب وخلفية معرفيّة قويةّ، تتأرجح بين الخيال والواقع، وتتنوع بشكل متناغم فـ بعضها مرعب وبعضها مستمّد من التاريخ وبعضها يُعاد سرده من التراث الأجنبي لكن بطريقة عربية وجديدة، وبالطبع لا تخلو من قصص التراث الشعبي، توقعت أن يخفت بريق الكتاب كما يحدث مع كتب القصص إذ لا تكون جميعها بنفس المستوى بفارق كبير، لكن لم يحدث ذلك هنا، على العكس كل قصة لها تعريف خاص، وحتى القصص التي لا تعتبر رائعة جداً فهي جيدة جداً. أعتقد أن قصتي المُفضلة هي "أرنولفيني" -لوحة رسمها ڤان آيك، يظهر فيها آل أرنولفيني (رجل وإمرأة)- هويّة الزوجين غير معروفة واللوحة تحمل الكثير من الدلائل التي في بحاجة إلى التدقيق، وحاول المؤرخين معرفة هويّة المرأة ذات الفستان الأخضر وعثروا على بعض التخمينات، وعدّي هنا كتب نسخته الخاصة حول من تكون المرأة ولماذا تبدو بهذا الشكل المثالي البعيد عن الواقع، وكتبها بطريقة غير عادية، بطريقة مبهرة جداً. "كل الأشياء تنزعُ إلى الخلود" يبدأ بها قصة "كلب مدينة إفسس"، يبدو أنّه لا يوجد ترابط بين عنوان القصة وأول جملة استفتاحية ولكنّه يوجد، لأن الكلب كـ حال كل شيء يسمو للذكرى، ويوّد أن يخلّد في قصة تحكيها الأجيال عبر العصور، في 4 صفحات يحدثّك عدّي عن هذه النظرة. قصص أخرى رائعة جداً: "الجارية ذات الشعر الطويل"، "حكاية الصبي الذي استطاع النوم"، "الزوكانة"، "لماذا يكثر أهل الرس من أكل الحبحر" (الحبحر هو الفلفل الأحمر الحار)، "عندما أفاقت الجميلة النائمة" و "من قتل الواقدي.استمتعت للغايّة بـ قراءة هذه النصوص القصصيّة الجميلة.
