"في داخلي تتصارع قوتان، واحدة في وضح النهار والأخرى في الظلام، في جوف الأرض حيث الوحدة والأسرار، ما لا يعرفه أحد سواي، ربما أعيش عمرا دون أن أصل إليه أو أكتشف وجوده، الغريب أن هذا الجزء المنفي منا قد يكون هو أكثر ما فينا حيوية، الجزء الذي يكسبنا فرادتنا، الذي يميز هويتنا عن غيرنا من البشر رغم أن موروثاتنا متشابهة تقريبا. أية قوة تسيطر على الأخرى؟ من يحرر الكائن البدائي في أعماقنا، المشكلة أن هذا الكائن وحيد لايعرف العائلة أو القيود التي تنظمنا في خلية، هو يسعى فقط لإرضاء ذاته، يتجول في الساحات الواسعة، في البراري القديمة، داخل أفكارنا، في اللا محدود من الخيال، ولكن عندما ينطلق ليتجسد خارجنا يصطدم بالمساحة التي تحاصره، القوانين والحدود، عليك أن تراعي كل المحيطين بك، فأنت لا تعيش في فراغ، فيزداد فراغك الداخلي ويتقوقع إنسانك الفطري في أعماق الظلمة، و بفعل الترسيبات والضغوط التراكمية قد يحدث الانفجار، للحظات أو دقائق أو أيام لا تستطيع التنفس كما تريد فتكون شهقة الموت/الحياة. ربما تحتاج أن تموت كي تحيا، في هذه اللحظة يعاودني سؤال: ما الذي فعلته بابنتي؟ هل يمكن لي وسط اضطرابي وحيرتي أن أتوقع كيف ستكون علاقتي بابنتي؟ وأنا التي لم أفهم طبيعة علاقتي بأمي، أوعلاقة جدتي بأمي.. جدتي حسنة الفقي الفتاة القروية الفقيرة التي أصبحت سيدة البيت الكبير وتمنت أن تكون ابنتها على الصورة التي وصلت إليها، لكن أمي كانت متمردة عليها وظل بينهما توتر مكتوم يظهر في دفعات مفاجئة ..... حسن الختام، الرواية الثانية لـ صفاء النجَّار .. بعد استقالة ملك الموت، التي صدرت عن شرقيات 2005
