جلست "سما" في الجانب الاخر من مائدة الطعام صامتة وجهها يعبر عن تذمره من تعب العمل الذي لا ينتهي وهي توجه الكلام الى شخص ما، تنظر إلى الطعام ، وكأنها تنظر إلى عالم آخر.
كان "عمر" زوجها يجلس في الجانب المقابل من الطاولة، يشعر بالقلق من صمتها، ومن نظراتها المُحملة بمشاعر غامضة تشعره بموجة من الكره موجهه له بالذات، دون عن الجميع، وهم امها واولادها، لم يكن يشعر برغبة بالطعام في ذلك الوقت، قالت له:
- قم كل معنا !
وجهت الكلام له بشكل استفزازي كعادتها :
- لماذا لا تأكل الم تقل اريد ان آكل قبل قليل .
