بينما زوجته هي متدينةٌ يهودية مبالغةٌ في اهتمامها بأمور الدين اليهودي
اولاده هما يوحانيم وهو شبيه والده ذكي ومحبوب
اما ابنه الثاني فهو هابات سمين غليظ ومكروه من قبل الجميع
اكماهون كره اليهودية واصبح له معارضةً لخرافات الدين اليهودي
فتم طرده من المدينة وتحدث معه مغامرات كثيرة اثناء طريقه سفره الى مدينة ايميسيا
اثناء عمله واجهَ ريتا وأعجب بها وقرر ان يتزوجها
فتغير لأجلها وتزوجا وانجبا طفلين
