كتاب جَعلوهُ حاكماً تأليف عمرو سرحان، من مقدمة الكتاب: " في هذا العصر الذي طغت فيه المادة على القيم، ونما العقل على حساب القلب، وتعقدت أنماط الحياة، وكثرت متطلباتها، واستهلك كسب الرزق، معظم الوقت، واختُصر كل شيء، حتى اختصرت الشهور في ساعات والسنون في أيام، وظهرت الحاجة ملحة إلى مطالعات سريعة خفيفة، فتطلع الناس إلى الصحف والمجلات، واستهوتهم الكتيبات، والدوريات، وكأن الناس أرادوا أن يختصروا البحر في قارورة، والبستان في باقة، وضياء الشمس في بارقة، وهزيم الرعد في أغرودة، وبحثوا عن فن أدبي يدور معهم أينما داروا، ويرافقهم حيثما ساروا، ويكون معهم في حلِّهم وترحالهم، وأحزانهم وأفراحهم في لهوهم وجدِّهم، يعبر عن نشاطهم العقلي، وعن اضطرابهم النفسي كذلك اختصرت الكتب في مقالات، فجاءت بلسماً شافياً لمرض العصر ودواءً لضيق الوقت، فكانت المقالة من أوسع الفنون الأدبية انتشاراً؛ لأنها أقلها تعقيداً وأشدها وضوحاً، وأكثرها استيعاباً، لشتى الموضوعات وأيسرها مرونة على الكاتب، لذلك قمت بنشر هذا الكتاب وهو عبارة عن مجموعة مقالات نُشر بعضٌ منها في بوابة الشروق وتم جمعها ووضعها في كتاب أو مرجع لأحداث متعاقبة فى الفترة الماضية".
