في أحد المنازل بالحي السابع، أخذت سيدة تصيح على زوجها من عتبة منزلها قبل أن يغادر إلى عمله ليأخذ معه كيس القمامة يلقيه في الصندوق الكائن في بداية الشارع، أخذه سليمان وهو يدمدم بعبارات السخط والتبرم؛ فكيف له هو المحاسب الذي يعمل بأحد أهم البنوك في مصر وبتلك الحُلة الأنيقة التي يرتديها يحمل بيده كيس قمامة أسود تفوح رائحته النتنة لتنحي رائحة عطره غالي الثمن على جانب وتلتبس به.
في النهاية وصل إلى صندوق القمامة وألقى بالكيس على عجالة حالما باغتته قطة سمينة قفزت من الصندوق تفر هاربة فتراجع والتوت قدميه حول بعضهما؛ فتمسَّك بحافة الصندوق الممتلئ عن آخره بشكل غريزي في سبيل حماية نفسه من السقوط لكن لسوء حظه أنه قد سقط بالفعل وانقلب الصندوق فوقه ليجد نفسه في أحضان فتاة حسناء، جميلة ملامحها الشاحبة، وشعرها الأشقر المصبوغ بلون حبات اللوز، وتحت وطأة الصدمة لم يند عنه أية حركة حتما أدرك كنه الحقيقة الرابضة فوقه وقد خنقته رائحتها الفظيعة.. إنها جثة!
