كانت الأرض الضيقة، وكان نحيب الراحلين، فهشمت أعضائي بين مدن شتى، ورأيت الزلازل تحت قدمي، دوخة أرض ونشوة سماء، غدراناً تحتلها عصافير, وملائك ترتطم بسقف البسيطة حتى يخالها الرائي، طيوراً كسيحة، تنقر فضلات البشر. البشر وقد عادوا إلى بطون أمهاتهم ملوثين وطاهرين. هكذا يغدق الغيم على بنيه، وقد رحلت بعيداً في نزواتك، فأدركتني الظهيرة في الربع الخالي.
