انضمت ريم ساردة الرواية إلى وميلاتها في كلية الطب للإقامة في بيت السيدة ثريا والتي تعيش وحيدة, وكانت ريم قد عاد إلى القاهرة لاستكمال دراستها بعيدا عن أسرتها التي تقيم وتعمل في مدينة الدمام, وتنضج شخصية ريم بمرور أحداث القصة والتي تبدأ بحادث أليم وقع أمام عينيها مرورا بعملها في مستشفى الدكنور خالد والتي كانت تتميز بفكرتها المختلفة فتتوالى القصص التي تسمعها وتمر بها وتتوالى المفاجأت التي لم تكون تتوقعها
