تجري حكايتي في عالم فانتازيا عليا حديثة تُدار فيه الممالك بالظنّ والوشاية والدم، حيث تصبح الحقيقة عبئًا لا يُحتمل. وأنا يزن، فتى لم يطلب من القدر سوى النجاة، لكني أحمل سرًّا يحرّك الممالك: حجارة الحقيقة؛ جواهر سحرية هي قلب كل مملكة ومفتاح بقائها، تُنير لمن يملكها ...وتحرقه بالقدر نفسه.
منذ صرتُ عارفًا أو صرتُ معروفًا تحولتُ إلى الحلقة المفقودة التي إن استقرّت في مكانها أغلقت الدائرة، وعادت حضارة الملوك القديمة من الأسطورة إلى الواقع لتُستعاد وتُستخدم. والخطر ليس في السحر وحده، بل فيمن يعرف كيف يمسكه بلا ارتجاف؛ لذلك صرتُ هدفًا لأطماعٍ تتبدّل أقنعتها ولا تتبدّل شهيتها، وفي مقدمتها فانمند، ملك مملكة دُجنة وخادم تاج البشرية، أحد أولئك الذين تمنحهم تيجان العرش قوى لا تُصدَّق مقابل ثمنٍ يُدفع من العمر والروح والولاء.
ومع اتساع المطاردة تضيق الأسئلة :ما سرّ حجارة الحقيقة وحدود قوتها؟ ولماذا يختار العالم ملوكًا لتيجان العرش: أهي مكافأة أم فخٌّ لضحايا بملامح المنقذين؟ وأمام فانمند وخياراته أقف بين أن أُسلّم قدري، أو أُشعل حربًا أعرف بدايتها ولا أضمن نهايتها حربًا قد تربح العالم ...وتخسرني أنا. وفي قلب كل ذلك يبقى السؤال الذي يخنق ببطء: ماذا يحدث حين تصبح الحقيقة نفسها ...حجرًا تتقاتل عليه الممالك؟
