تحدثت الكاتبة في روايتها عن بعض العادات والتقاليد التي تسود بعض القُرى، لم تذكر الكاتبة اسم القرية أو المحافظة حفاظاً للخصوصية... بطل الرواية الشاب محمد ذو الأحلام والطموح العالي، كانت أقصى أمنياته أن يذهب للمدينة لإكمال مسيرته العلمية.. واجهته الصعاب تجاوزها وعشق فتاة ضَحَّت بدراستها وعملها من أجله حتى قيدته وصية جده و شعر حينها أن حياته مصابة بلعنة..
تقول الكاتبة على لسانِ بطل قصتها: خلقني الرَّب لأجلهم، أما أنا فكل ما أتمناه أحصل على عكسه.. متى ستكون النهاية وكيف ستكون...
