شاه اسماعیل انسانی سفاك و خونریز و به شدت متعصب بوده است. او از همان ابتدا بنیاد سلطنت صفویه را بر خون ریزی بنا كرد و این خوی خون آشامی چهره كریه خود را به گونههای متفاوت ظاهر كرده است. گاه در پوشش دین و منتشر كردن مذهب، گاه در جامه سیاست و اداره مملكت و گاهی هم برای تفریح و خوشگذرانی .او جنایاتی مانند: سر بریدن، دست و پا قطع كردن، مثله كردن، پوست كندن، كور كردن و در آتش انداختن و انواع شكنجهها را برای ارضای فطرت پست و ددمنشانه خود مرتكب میشد. هنگامی كه به تبریز وارد شد با وجود اینكه با هیچ گونه مقاومتی مواجه نشد اما بسیاری از مردم شهر را قتل عام كرده مأمورانش زنان باردار را با جنینهایی كه در شكم داشتند به قتل رساندند. شاه اسماعیل بعد از اینكه تبریز را تصرف كرد، مذهب شیعه اثنی عشری دوازده امامی را به عنوان مذهب رسمی اعلام كرد..... اين كتاب خلاصه ای از جنایات این جلاد است
