عبر لغة الذاكرة تكتب مريم خريباتي (بيت بيوت)، فتأتي الكلمات كنوع من التذهن الجمالي الدينامي العالي الشعرية، والمنبثق في النص بتعبيرات شتى؛ تبحث عن زمان غائب، لتمارس توحدها معه حتى الإمتلاء وقد تمظهرت في النص، بما يمكن القول أنه عملية تشخيص، وعملية أنسنة للأشياء والوجود، ما يعني إننا إزاء حضورٍ إنسانيّ يعمل (التشخيص) بوصفه طريقة من طرق البناء والتشكيل على تأسيسه وتشكيله لغايات ومقاصد متعددة تكشف عنها الكاتبة في نصها.
في النص المعنون (صديق الناس) تقول الكاتبة: "... ما أكتبه هو عن فترة من طفولتي، أحبها كثيراً لأنها كانت طفولة غنية بما تقتضيه الحياة في تلك الأيام، في بلدةٍ نائية عن الوطن وأشياء كثيرة! ليس من باب النقّ، أو اللوم لذاك الزمان، أو لأني شيء آخر، بل لأن "مرمر"، التي هي ذاكرة مريم الناصعة، فتحت باب الطفولة، ولم تشأ أن تغلقه بعد!". وبهذا المعنى تبدو مريم / الكاتبة هي الذات والموضوع، الكاتب والمكتوب، وعلامة وجود النص، ومدلوله في الآن نفسه، وكل ذلك يأتي عبر نصوص أخّاذة، تكتب نفسها بنفسها، حيث جمال الصور والتشابيه والإستعارات التي تفسح لنوع من التخييل، يملأ فراغ الحاضر وسأمه.
من عناوين الكتاب نذكر: "الكلكول" ، "تساؤلات" ، "صديق الناس" ، "الورق المرّ" ، "ضيعتي" ، "شخصيات كثيرة" ، "عداوة" ، "أم لإخوتي" ، "حبل الغسيل" ، "تؤلف ولا تؤلفان" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
جدتي، التي حكت لنا حكايات الجنّ والسفربرلك، والانكشارية التي هرب منها والدها بأعجوبة… وحكاية جارتها التي كانت تصيب بالعين… وأسرفت في سرد حكايا الحقل والمنجل… وحكايا القطيع الذي كانت بقراته تفهم عليها؛ فـ«نوّارة» كانت ستّ ستّات «العجّال» فإذا شبعت نوّارة شبع العجّال جميعه!
جدّتي، كان لها ضحكة خجولة تستوقفني طويلاً لأفهم معناها وأجد نعتاً يناسبها… ضحكتها تغريدة ساقية… ودمعتها شتاءٌ لا يأتي إلا بدعاء الاستسقاء؛ بلّوراتٌ ثمينة تتلألأ في عينيها الصغيرتين عجِبْتُ إذ اكتشفتُ أنها دمعاتها المكابرة! جدّتي، فيما بعد، فتحت كل الحكايا ونامت فيها!
