إندونيسيا واحدة من الدول الآسيوية التي تتمتع بمميزات عدة جديرة بالبحث، أهمها الموقع الاستراتيجي المهم الذي جعلها محط انظار المستعمرين منذ القرن السادس عشر، اذ منحها الفرصة لممارسة دورها في المحافل الاقليمية والدولية بعد الاستقلال، فضلاً عن ذلك فإنها تضم أكثر المسلم ي ن في العالم، وما يميز الإسلام في ا إندونيسيا انه دخل بشكل سلمي، اذ اعتنق الإندونيسيون الاسلام عن طريق التجار المسلم ي ن الذين وصلوا الى تلك البلاد في القرون السابقة. شهدت إندونيسيا بعد اعلان الاستقلال عام 1945 تطورات سياسية مهمة، ابرزها النزاع مع هولندا بشأن انتزاع الاعتراف بالاستقلال، ثم الدور البارز الذي قامت به بين الدول الآسيوية والأفريقية، الذي تجسد من خلال احتضانها لأول مؤتمر لدول عدم الانحياز في باندونج عام 1955 . وفي ضوء ذلك ، ارتأينا بحث الموضوع بحثاً أكاديمياً، وحاولنا قدر الإمكان في بحثنا هذا الإلمام بجوانب المدة قيد الدراسة كافة، لوضع بحث أكاديمي متخصص يسد فراغاً واضحاً في المكتبة العربية اسهاماً منا في رفد الدراسات التاريخية بالبحوث الأكاديمية.
