جان أنوي Jean Anouilh مؤلف مسرحي فرنسي ولد في مدينة بوردو في كنف أسرة متواضعة؛ فقد كان أبوه خياطاً وأمه عازفة كمان.
أظهر أنوي اهتماماً بالغاً بالمسرح منذ كان تلميذاً في المرحلتين الإعدادية والثانوية، كما تأثر بكاتب مسرحي معروف في تلك الحقبة يدعى هنري باتاي Henri Bataille، إلا أن الحدث الأهم الذي شكل منعطفاً حاسماً في حياة أنوي المسرحية هو مشاهدته لإحدى مسرحيات الكاتب الفرنسي جان جيرودو [ر] Jean Giraudoux، وهي بعنوان سيغفريد Seigfried فسحرته لغتها الشاعرية.

حالما نشاهد أو نقرأ هذه المسرحية، يتبادر إلى ذهننا على الفور سؤال لا بد أن يطرح نفسه: ما الفرق بين مسرحية سوفوكليس الشهيرة التي تعتبر الجزء الثالث من الثلاثية التي تحمل عنواناً رئيسياً: مسرحيات طيبة: أوديب الملك، أوديب في كولون، أنتيجونا في القرن الخامس قبل الميلاد، وبين مسرحيتنا هذه التي ألفها جان أنوي، الكاتب المسرحي الفرنسي المعاصر.
أنتيجونا أنوي، هذه تعرض كل ما حوته مسرحية سوفوكليس، حتى التفاصيل البسيطة فيها، لكن مسرحية سوفوكليس تعرض قصة انتيجونا وتصميمها على دفن أخيها بالرغم من أمر الحاكم، كريون، خالها، ويتبع تصرفها هذا موتها المأسوي وموت خطيبها، هايمون، ابن كريون وموت أمه، زوجة كريون، وموت أنتيجونا هنا ناتج عن حكم الآلهة على عائلة أوديب، الذي ارتكب المحرمات، بالموت والعذاب.
أما أنتيجونا أنوي فتركز على عدالة موقف أنتيجونا وحقها في دفن أخيها المغضوب عليه، وأهم ما في مسرحيته هو النقاش الذي يجري بين أنتيجونا (الرعيّة) وكريون (الراعي)، فلا غرو أن يناقش أنوي مثل هذا الموقف، فقد كانت فرنسا، وقت عرض هذه المسرحية، ترزح تحت نير دكتاتورية الإحتلال الألماني النازي البغيض.
