أبطال هذهِ الرواية لم يكونوا نسجًا من الخيال، بل أرواحهم في السماء محلّقة تنظر إلينا، وصفتهم الكاتبة بدقة ونقلتهم بصدق.
سماء وغسق ما كانتا سوى لسان كل يمني ويمنية لذعتهما نار هذه الحرب وطالت أحبابها وأحلامها وأورثتهما الدمار.
مع كل أنين حملتهُ أوراق أنات الرحيل صوتنا، ومع كل حرف حكايتنا.. فما كانت أنّات الرحيل وجع الكاتبة وحدها بل كانت نحن.
