شاعر مصري، ولد بمدينة دمياط في 12 نوفمبر 1960م التحق بقسم الصحافة بكلية الآداب بسوهاج – جامعة أسيوط، وتخرج فيها في مايو 1983.
انضم إلى جريدة الأهرام في 1 من يناير 1985م ليعمل في قسم الأخبار، وفي 18 من فبراير 1995 صدرت مجلة "نصف الدنيا" الأسبوعية ليتولى مهام سكرتير تحرير المجلة، ثم نائباً لرئيس التحرير في مايو 2000.
من أعماله: 1.

Book Description
صُوفيَّةُ أحمد الشّهاوي تنقضُ الصوفية، ونظامٌ ينقضُ النظام، وشفرة تضاد الشفرات، فهو يحاولُ صناعة شفرته الخاصة، حيث يبني الكلام بالوجُود، ولا يبني الوجودَ بالكلام، مُناقضاً لكلِّ الشفرات التي عهدناها في شعر الصوفية، وإذا كانت (كن) شفرة الوجود، فالشَّهاوي يبحثُ عن (كن) أخرى.
ومن هنا، فهو يناقضُ الصوفية ويهدمُها بأسلحتها هي؛ ليقيمَ عالمَهُ الخاص المعاصر المتفرد، ينقض النظام فيهدمه بوسائله نفسها، بنظامٍ آخر، وتصوفٍ آخر يرجو للعالم أن يدخل فيه التغيير، تغييراً جذريّاً لا شكليّاً، ولا لفظيّاً، فهو إنقلابٌ على نظام الكون، ونظام اللغة.
