تتكون هذه الرواية من مقدمة، و 26 فصلاً من النوع القصير والمتوسط.
تتناول الرواية موضوعاً سياسياً مهماً، وتسلط الضوء على القضية العراقية الداخلية، وما يحدث فيها من صراع دموي حاد، تختلط فيها أوراق المقاومة مع طموحات الغزاة، وتطلعات القوى الإقليمية الأخرى.
تعالج هذه الرواية قضية أشغلت الرأي العالمي في فترة سابقة، وما زال صداها وأثرها يتردد حتى الآن، ألا وهي اغتصاب السجينات العراقيات، وما يصاحبه من تجاوزات أخلاقية.
بطلة القصة هي فتاة عشرينية، اسمها أميرة الحارث، خطيبة أحد أفراد المقاومة العراقية، هذه المقاومة التي بدأت في استخدام تقنية الشرائح الذكية، وبتصنيع محلي، ومحاولة تطويرها عبر فريق متخصص من علماء العراق.
الرواية تمزج بين الحبكة البوليسية المرسومة بدقة وتعقيد، وبين العاطفة الاجتماعية التي تضفي عليها جانباً من الإنسانية المرهفة.
وقد فازت هذه الرواية بالمركز الأول في مسابقة أجمل رواية، والتي نظمتها مجلة البيان اللندنية.
