" انا انتمي الى جيل كثير منا كانت حياته واهتماماته ترفيهية تافهة.. وكان ضعيفاً دينياً - بل أكثر- فمنا من لم يكن يصلي إلا الجمُع- إن صلى- ومعرفياً " جهل مركب فظيع" ، ولم تكن له أهداف يسعى لها، يهيم في الحياة.
لم ينشأ هذا الجيل في حلق التحفيظ ، وآخر عهده بالقراءة كتب موسوعية في طفولته، أو روايات في مراهقته، فجأة صارت له خطط في شتى العلوم، يواجهها بما اعقبه نظام حياته السابق من خور في الهمة ومن مشاكل حقيقة في التركيز، فيقرأ قليلاً في هذا الكتاب وينقطع، ويريد مشاهدة سلسلة محاضرات عن موضوع ما، ويسجل في برنامج علمي وبرنامجين وثلاث… يعاني في الانضباط ، وهذا لانعدام الصورة الواضحة لما يريده من المعرفة، فلا هدف ولا مصبر. وأنا لما سلكت هذا السبيل كسرني فشلي في تحقيق مرادي، واعقبني ذلك خوفاً يشلني. علمياً الآن انا منقطع تماماً ، اوقفت جميع برامجي العلمية المنظمة، صوناً لنفسي من تعذيبها فيما لا -أظن- منه طائلاً. أمر بفترة لو قيل لي صفها بكلمة اخترت لفظة ضياع ، سؤال المليون دولاء كما يقال: كيف اعرف من انا، ومن أرغب من أكونه ؟ كيف اقشع هذا الضباب الذي من حولي حتى تنضج رؤيتي وتصوري عن مستقبلي وعن علاقتي بالمعرفة والعلم ، كيف اعرف ما أحب وما اجيد".
