إلى كل من جلس ليلةً وحيدًا،
يتساءل:
"هل بيتي بخير؟ هل أبنائي يروني؟
هل أخطأت حين سلّمتهم لشاشة، وأنا أظن أني أستريح؟"
كتبتُ هذه الرواية… لا لأنني أملك إجابات،
بل لأنني – مثل كثيرين – رأيت الهاوية تقترب.

بل عن أبناء نعرفهم… وبناتٍ يشبهن من حولنا…
وعائلات كانت تشبهنا، قبل أن يغمرها الضجيج.
هذه الرواية ليست للقراءة فقط،
بل للحوار… بين الآباء والأبناء، بين الأزواج، بيننا وبين أنفسنا.
وأتمنى، أن تكون – كما كانت لي –
خطوة صغيرة على طريق طويل،
نحو بيت أكثر دفئًا… ونفس أكثر وعيًا
