كتاب النيل فى خطر مع مقالات تأليف كامل زهيري، ينقل لنا الكاتب من خلال هذه التي تأتي عن النص الكامل ليوميات تيودور هرتزل كما صدرت في "نيويورك" في العام 1960 ينقل تفاصيل محاولة صهيونية مبكرة للاستيلاء على مياه النيل. قادها "هرتزل" بنفسه حين جاء إلى مصر في مارس 1903، مدعوما من وزير المستعمرات البريطانية "تشمبرلين" ومتفاوضا مع حاكم مصر البريطاني، اللورد "كرومر".
ويحرص "كامل زهيري" على الإشارة إلى أن "هرتزل" أعد بنفسه صيغة قسم ردده كل مرافقيه بعدم إفشاء أي من تفاصيل المفاوضات ولو بالإشارة، وامتد التزام الصهاينة ـ والسلطات البريطانية ـ بهذه السرية حتى بعد وفاة "هرتزل" إذ فرضت بريطانيا الرقابة على الصحف المصرية حتى لا تنشر شيئا عن "وعد بلفور" في العام 1917.
