إن الله تعالي حذرنا من أمراض القلوب , لأنَّ أخطرَ الأمراض في عالم الطِب هي الأمراضُ التي لا أعراضَ لها .
وهُناكَ أمراضٌ لها آلامٌ لا تُحتمل ، ليست خطيرة , لأنها في وقتٍ مُبكر تكشِفُها ، ولكنَّ أخطرَ الأمراض هي الأمراض التي لا يُصاحِبُها ارتفاع حرارةٍ ولا آلامُ مُبرّحةٌ , إنما هيَ أمراضٌ تتسلل تسلُلاً بطيئاً إلى أن تستفحلَ فجأةً , وعندئذٍ يستحيلُ الدواء .
فمن أمراض القلوب مرض النفاق فهو مرض خطير وشر مستطير إذا استولى على القلب أماته، وصار صاحبه حياً كميت، وصحيح البدن مريض الروح، قال الله تعالى } فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضٗاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمُۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡذِبُونَ (10){ [البقرة].
