يمثل هذا الكتاب موسوعة نحوية متكاملة للعالم الجليل الدكتور إبراهيم بركات، أستاذ النحو والصرف بكلية الآداب بجامعة المنصورة. والكتاب مكون من 5 أجزاء. وهو يهدف في مجمله إلى معالجة النحو من خلال الجملة العربية، ولما كان النحو منذ نشأته مهتمًا بدراسة القواعد المستنبطة من كلام العرب والكلام مؤلف من جملة فأكثر؛ كان ذلك محددًا لنظرة العرب إلى مجال الدراسة النحوية حيث تنحصر في دراسة بنية الجملة كلا متكاملًا وليست الكلمة جزءًا مستقلًا.
في الجزء الأول يتناول المؤلف الجملة الاسمية بكل تفاصيلها، والجزء الثاني يتناول فيه الجملة الفعلية، بكل ما يحيط بها، وفي الجزء الثالث يحدثنا عن الحال والاستثناء والتمييز والعدد، والأسماء العاملة عمل الفعل، وأسماء الأصوات والمصدر واسم الفاعل، وصيغ المبالغة، وفي الجزء الرابع يتناول الجلم ذات المعاني الثابتة(أساليب المعنى) مثل أسلوب النداء، والاستغاثة والندبة، والترخيم والإغراء والتحذير، والمدح والذم، والتعجب، والنسبة بالجر، وفي الجزء الخامس يتناول التوابع، النعت، والتوكيد، البدل، والعطف والتركيب، وغير ذلك من الموضوعات.
