في كتابه الزاخر بعنوان “المنارة المفقودة” خطّ الشيخ الدكتور عبد الله عزام رحمه الله، تفاصيل مهمّة وحساسة عن تركيا ونظام الحكم فيها والشخصيات اللاعبة فيه منذ سقوط الخلافة العثمانية.
ففيه قدم الشيخ الدكتور دراسة مستفيضة تعتمد على المعالم التاريخية والدينية والسياسية والاقتصادية وحتى النفسية في قراءة مشهد تطور تركيا من مرحلة الخلافة إلى العلمانية التي رسخ قواعدها مصطفى كمال أتاتورك.
واستهل الشيخ الدكتور كتابه ببسط فهم عميق حول مشروع تدمير الخلافة، كون تركيا أو المارد العملاق، كان يؤرق نوم أوروبا، بوقوفه على أبواب فينا مرتين، ودقه أبواب (لنين غراد) التي كان اسمها آنذاك (بطرس بيرغ).
لقد لفت الشيخ الدكتور الانتباه إلى أن مشروع تدمير تركيا كان شغل أوروبا الشاغل وبخاصة العناصر اليهودية المبثوثة في كل مكان والتي كانت تحرك بأصابعها الخفية الدوائر السياسية في العالم الغربي من خلال رؤوس الأموال المملوكة بين أيدي اليهود وفي مصارفهم خاصة عائلة (روتشليد).
ولذا فقد كانت ممتلكات تركيا هي الصيد الذي ترنو إليه كل العيون الغربية، ثم الإسلام الذي كانت القلوب تقطر عليه حقدًا وسمًا، وتتربص به الدوائر وتنتظر الفرصة المناسبة للانقضاض فوقه والإجهاز عليه، وقد رأت أوروبا أن أسهل الطرق للإجهاز عليه أن تأتي الضربة القاصمة بيد أبنائه الذين يتسمون باسم المسلمين، وعليه فقد جاء مصطفى أتاتورك ليحقق ما لم تحلم أوروبا به في يوم من الأيام.
