علم أَن الْأَفْعَال إِنَّمَا دَخلهَا الْإِعْرَاب لمضارعتها الْأَسْمَاء وَلَوْلَا ذَلِك لم يجب أَن يعرب مِنْهَا شَيْء وَذَلِكَ أَن الْأَسْمَاء هِيَ المعربة وَمَا كَانَ غير الْأَسْمَاء فمآله لَهَا وَهِي الْأَفْعَال والحروف وَإِنَّمَا ضارع الْأَسْمَاء من الْأَفْعَال مَا دخلت عَلَيْهِ زَائِدَة من الزَّوَائِد الْأَرْبَع الَّتِي توجب الْفِعْل غير ماضي وَلكنه يصلح لوقتين لما أَنْت فِيهِ وَلما لم يَقع والزوائد الْألف وَهِي عَلامَة الْمُتَكَلّم وحقها أَن يُقَال همزَة وَالْيَاء وَهِي عَلامَة الْغَائِب وَالتَّاء وَهِي عَلامَة الْمُخَاطب وعلامة الْأُنْثَى الغائبة وَالنُّون وَهِي للمتكلم إِذا كَانَ مَعَه غَيره وَذَلِكَ قَوْلك أفعل أَنا وَتفعل أَنْت أَو هِيَ ونفعل نَحن وَيفْعل هُوَ وَإِنَّمَا قيل لَهَا مضارعة لِأَنَّهَا تقع مواقع الْأَسْمَاء فِي الْمَعْنى تَقول زيد يقوم وَزيد قَائِم فَيكون الْمَعْنى فيهمَا واحداَ كَمَا قَالَ عز وَجل {وَإِن رَبك ليحكم بَينهم} أَي الْحَاكِم.
