Book Description
ليس ثمّة إنسان مُدمن بالولادة وآخر غير مُدمن، هي البيئة التي تقيض للفرد ظروف الإدمان، أو العكس، ولكن مؤلفة رواية "المُدمن" وليام س. بوروز جربه - كما يقول - من باب الفصول "جرّبته بدافع الفضول بقيت أحقن نفسي لمجرّد أني كنت قادراً على شرائه، انتهى بي الأمر مُدمناً".
ومن هنا، يسجل المؤلف تجربته مع الإدمان في رواية، اختار لها شخصية روائية هي نورتون وأضاف نفسه كراوي مشارك، وتدور أحداث الرواية حول سيرة بوروز منذ لحظة وقوعه في الإدمان، والسقوط في هوة تعاطي المخدرات، وملاحقة تجار الهيروين من مكان إلى آخر، ما عدا أن الرواية في أحداثها ووقائعها يرتبط بالعالم السفليّ وشخوصه الغرائبية، وممارسة الشذوذ الجنسي والهروب المتواصل من رجال الشرطة.
والرواية في مضمونها تسلط الضوء على هامشية تلك الشريعة من المجتمع وغرقها في الإدمان، وإنشغالها عن الحياة العملية، كما تعكس الرواية أحوال المدمنين من خلال تقسيم الراوي لأنواع الإدمان وطبقات المتعاطين والتجار وحتى أصناف رجال الشرطة، وهي بالنهاية نسخة منقحة عن المجتمع الأمريكي الذي تدور خلف كواليسه الرواية.
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ: "أنا وزوجتي انفصلنا، وأنا على إستعداد للإنتقال جنوباً سعياً وراء سَطلة غير مخفّفة التركيز تفتح آفاقاً بدلاً من تضييقها كما يفعل الهيروين.
السطّل هو أن ترى الأمور من زاوية خاصة، السّطل هو التحرّر الخاطف من مطالبات الجسد الخائف، القلق، الحذر المتشيّخ، قد أجد في الياغي ما كنت أبحث عنه في الهيروين والحشيش والكوكايين، قد يكون الياغي هو التوازن الأخير... الياغي دواء يدعى تيليباتين".
