العمانيون وقلعة ممباسا الكتاب يدور حول انضمام ممباسا لحكم السيد سعيد بن سلطان في عام 1824م أصبحت ممباسا يمثلها الحكام العمانيون ولكن تحت الحماية البريطانية إلا أن الحكم العُماني لممباسا سرعان ما عاد مرة أخرى عام 1826م، وفي عام 1837م أعلن السيد سعيد بن سلطان( سلطان مسقط وزنجبار) ضم ممباسا اسميا لحكمه حيث أعلن السيد سعيد نفسه حاكما على كل ساحل شرقي أفريقيا من رأس الغضروفي في الشمال حتى رأس دلجادو في الجنوب
