نستطيع أن نقرر بيقين أن الله تعالى بوأ الجزيرة العربية موقعاً جغرافياً ممتازاً أتاح لها أن تؤثر وتتأثر في المناطق الجغرافية المجاورة ونخص ذلك بالذكر منطقة الهلال الخصيب.
ماذا يعني هذا التسرب المستمر لسكان الجزيرة العربية باتجاه سوريا والعراق ومصر وذلك خلال كافة الحقب التاريخية، كيف نفسر هجرة الفينيقيين من الخليج العربي إلى سوريا، ثم إلى شمال إفريقيا، ثم كيف نفسر انتقال البرابرة إلى الجزائر والمغرب العربي وليبيا ومصر، إن الوطن العربي كتلة تاريخية ثقافية واحدة، والعروبة إن لم تكن أصل السامية فهي توأمها.
ويرى الدكتور جواد علي أن وطن الساميين الأول هو جزيرة العرب، وفيه هاجروا إلى الأماكن المعروفة التي استقروا فيها، فهم في ذلك مثل القبائل العربية التي تركت بلاد العرب، استقرت في العراق، وفي بادية الشام وبلاد الشام لا يختلفون عنهم في شيء.
وهكذا فالتاريخ السياسي والاجتماعي للجزيرة العربية، ثم في سياق عمليات اجتماعية: هجرة، استقرار، نزوح، ثم إعادة استقرار وظهور المدن.
