في مدينة يغمرها الصمت وتلاحقها الظلال، يعيش "رومان" رحلة تشريحٍ مؤلمة لذاته… لا يبحث عن النجاة، بل عن الحقيقة، وإن كانت على هيئة اعتراف متأخّر أو ظلّ يهمس له في منتصف الليل.
هذه ليست قصة جريمة فقط، بل محاكمة ضمير امتدت لعقود، حيث الطفولة لم تكن بريئة، والخطيئة الأولى لم تُغفر، بل توارثتها الأرواح كإرث ثقيل.
يعود "رومان" إلى ماضيه حين دفع طفلًا بريئًا ليسقط في الثلج، ليسقط هو لاحقًا في عتمة أعمق: التجربة. المؤامرة. الظلّ.
وما بين الأصوات التي لا يسمعها سواه، والوجوه التي بلا أعين، تبدأ الأسئلة بالظهور:
هل كان قاتلًا أم ضحية؟
هل يُولد الشرّ داخلنا أم يُزرع؟
هل نحن من نكتب اعترافاتنا… أم أن الظلّ يكتبها عنا؟
رواية "الظل الذي لا يموت" ليست حكاية بطل، بل كشفٌ عن الوجوه خلف الأقنعة، عن جيلٍ خضع لتجارب نفسية في الخفاء، وعن رجلٍ عاد ليواجه الظلّ الوحيد الذي لا يمكنه الهروب منه: نفسه.
عملٌ فلسفي نفساني، يسبر أغوار الإنسان حين يُجبر على النظر في المرآة، لا ليرى صورته… بل ليُبصر ما تبقّى من ذاته.
