مسرحية السيد بونتيلا وتاربعه ماتى تأليف برتولد برخت، لقد قام برخت بكتابة هذه المسرحية بين عامى( 1940ـ 1941)، عندما كان يقيم فى منفاه فى فنلندا؛ هربا من وجه الطغيان النازي، مستمدا فكرة هذه المسرحية من قصة وتخطيط مسرحي للكاتبة الفنلندية هيلافوليوكى. وفي الحقيقة هذه المسرحية لى وه الخصوص تختلف عن بقية أعمال برخت فى أنها ليست من اللون "الإيديولوجي" الذى يدافع دفاعًا مباشرًا عن قضية فلسفية أو اجتماعية؛ فهي مسرحية شعبية تستمد شكلها الملحمي، كما يقول برخت، من مغامرات الملاحم الشعبية القديمة.
