ولد أوقاي ترياقي أوغلو في مرسين عام ١٩٧٢، وأمضى طفولته في (أرن كوي - إسطنبول)، تفتحت عيناه في عالم الأدب من خلال القصص... ترك جامعة بلكنت عام ١٩٩٤ قبل أن يتم دراسته فيها ليتفرغ لعالم الآدب. أحب دائما العيش في البلاد الأجنبية البعيدة والغامضة. كانت دعوة الظلام من إصدارات بيان أولى رواياته الأدبية، والتي نال عنها جائزة أفضل رواية لعام ٢٠٠٢. وصدرت روايته الثانية الظلال عام ٢٠٠٤، أعقبها برواية ليالي ألف عام ٢٠٠٥، كما لقيت روايته حصار ١٤٥٣ عام ٢٠٠٩ مع روايتيه الأخريين القانوني وياووز اهتماماً كبيراً لدى قراء الرواية التاريخية. من مؤلفاته القائد ٢٠٠٠٩ الحصار 1453 ٢٠٠٩ ياووز ٢٠٠٩ مراد الرابع ٢٠١٠ مولانا ٢٠١١ عبد الحميد ٢٠١١ القانوني السلطان الأول ٢٠١٢ .
