الدراما هي الحياة، نسخة من الحياة، محاكاة للحياة، عن طريق المحاكاة يكون الإنسان قادرًا على التعلم، وهذا مردود إلى أن المحاكاة وسيلة من وسائل المعرفة، والمعرفة في حد ذاتها مطلب إنساني.
ها هنا ترتبط الدراما بالتربية؛ لأن الدراما مع تطورها لا تعكس الواقع فحسب، بل عليها أن تسعى إلى تغييره، وهي لا تقلد الحياة، بل إن مسيرة الحياة في بعض جوانبها تقلد الدراما وتتأثر بها، وتلتقي الدراما مع التربية في أن الإنسان عبر مسيرته الحضارية تعلم من المحاكاة: من محاكاة الطبيعة والكائنات الأخرى.
والدراما بطبيعتها وسيلة للتواصل الإنساني؛ فهي التي تحدد الإطار الذهني، والنسيج الوجداني، وطريقة العبور من الماضي إلى الحاضر، ورؤيتنا للآخرين وقدرتها على التعامل مع رموز الثقافة القومية عندما نتسلح برؤية مستقبلية، تعبر عن قيم السعي والاستمرارية والتطلع إلى المستقبل، وتجاوز ما هو كائن إلى ما ينبغي أن يكون، عند ئذِ تكون الدراما المصرية إبداعية النزوع والتوجه؛ فما الإبداع إلا تجسيدًا للمستقبل.
