"لا أحد يُنكر ما لهذا الصندوق من مكانة جليلة عند الناس قاطبة، فقد كان لتموضعه أمام المصلين بجانب المحراب منذ مئات السنين الفضل في أن يحتل مكانة في النفوس لا تنبغي إلا لما هو مُقدّس، ودفع الأهالي إلى النظر إليه كموروث ديني له حق التبجيل، مثله في ذلك كمثل كل الأشياء التي لا قداسة لها في ذاتها بل لمكانتها في أفئدة المؤمنين".
لعل هذا المقتبس يشكل مدخلاً مناسباً إلى المتن الروائي لرواية «الختم» الصادرة عن "نادي جازان الأدبي" كونه يعكس جزئية معبرة عمّا يريد إيصاله الروائي خالد النمازي عن العلاقة الجدلية بين (الديني والدنيوي) وتمظهرها في حياة البشر. فذلك الصندوق وما يحتويه "الختم المعجزة" سيكون قادراً على فتح أبواب لا تُفتح، وتحقيق تطلعات لا تتأتى إلّا من خلاله! ولكن، ما هو سُر ذاك "الختم"؟
هذا الواقع تتم مقاربته في الرواية بتبجيل ورغبة ورهبة؛ وحُبٍّ وإيمانٍّ لا يخلو من نقد.. ويفعل ذلك الروائي من خلال رصد بنى ذهنية غرائبية تسود مجتمع شبه الجزيرة العربية بما فيها منطقة الساحل الجنوبي بشخصيات (روائية) تضع نفسها في مقام الأولياء والصالحين. وتتم مناقشة هذه الأفكار في جلسات مجلس الوناسة، ونوادٍ إعلامية، حيث تكون المسائل الدينية حاضرة بقوة داخلها، وكذلك الحكايات النادرة والشخصيات الغيبية دور البطولة فيها.
"ظهر في دولة أجنبية"، "شوهد وعليه مظاهر الثراء"، "صار له شأن في أحد الأماكن"، "أعجب به أمير وزوّجه ابنته" هذا ما شاع عن بطل الرواية "حسن" الذي تم اعتقاله أثناء عبوره الحدود في رحلة دعوية ليتم رميه في "زنزانة النار" أربع سنوات ليخرج منها مجنوناً.
لا تقتصر الرواية على شخصية "حسن" بل تمتد لتشمل شخصيات أخرى دينية وعلمية واجتماعية وإعلامية وتربوية ولكل واحدة منها دورها في رسم ملامح الرواية ورسالتها.
