تنحدر "مَــدّ" نحو الشط، شط النهر، أجل بهذا القرب، لا تخاف، تتحسس أناملها جسم المركب، الجسم الخشبي، الدافئ، وتصبح قادرة على رؤية الأسمرين، تتأمل أعينهما، إن خيالاتها لابد ستأتي، حتماً.
الدم يجري نحو مياه النهر، يسافر إلى الجبل، الدم لا يترك لون المياه، و "مَــدّ" تتمعن من فوق، تُشرف على هذا العالم، تنظر وتضحك، لكن الملائكة - منذ هذا اليوم - غادروا، انسلخوا من أشجارنا.
وتقول أمي: أكبر الخطايا كانت أن نترك الملائكة ترحل، وقد رأينا الأجنحة وهي تخفق طلوعاً إلى غير رجعة، لم يشفع لنا رجاء، هجّت الملائكة، سافرت حيث "مَــدّ".
وتقول وهي تهيل التراب على وجهها: ماتت لنا بنت.. ماتت لنا بنت!
وتقول: تباً لوطن تهجره ملائكتُه! لم تعُد الملائكة، لم تعُد.
