الكتاب من مؤلفات للشيخ محمد شريف محمد نور شريف، وهو داعية إسلامي سوداني ولد عام 1959م ولديه خلفية في الدراسات الإسلامية وعلوم النسب.
يُصنف الكتاب ضمن الأعمال التاريخية والنسبية (الجينالوجية) والدينية، حيث يتناول بالتحديد "أنساب أبناء عبدالله جماع " ومن في حكمهم، بالإضافة إلى الحديث عن "حضرة من أنساب الأشراف". يسعى الكتاب إلى توثيق وحفظ هذه السجلات المتعلقة بالأنساب والتاريخ الديني.
مؤلف الكتاب يتمتع بخبرة واسعة في الحياة العملية كداعية إسلامي، ومؤسس لـ "سلطة النشر الإسلامية"، وإمام وخطيب، وهذا يؤكد طبيعة المحتوى المتعمقة في الشؤون الدينية والاجتماعية.
