صالح بن عبد الله بن محمد بن حميد ، عضو هيئة كبار العلماء السعودية من مواليد بريدة سنة 1369 هـ. شغل منصب رئيس مجلس الشورى من 8 فبراير 2002 (الموافق 24 ذو القعدة 1422هـ) حتى تعيينه رئيسًا للمجلس الأعلى للقضاء في السعودية من 15 فبراير 2009 وحتى 17 مارس 2012 حين أُعفي وعُيّن مستشارًا في الديوان الملكي.
الحياة العملية
عمل معيداً في كلية الشريعة في جامعة أم القرى ثم محاضراً في نفس الجامعة ثم أستاذ مسـاعد إلى أن أصبح رئيساً لقسم الاقتصاد الإسلامي في نفس الجامعة بعد ذلك تولى منصب مدير مركز الدراسات العليا الإسلامية بجامعة أم القرى وكيل كلية الشريعة للدراسات العليا بجامعة أم القرى ثم عميدا لكلية الشريعة. عين نائباً للرئيس العام لشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي ثم عضواُ في مجلس الشورى 1414هـ - 1421هـ وفي عام 1421هـ صدر أمر بتعين الشيخ صالح بن حميد رئيس عاماً لشئون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبويوهو أول دكتور يُعين إماماً في المسجد الحرام حيث حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه عام 1402هـ وصلى إماماً في المسجد الحرام عام 1403هـ، وعُين رسمياً عام 1404هـ، وفي 24 ذو القعدة 1422هـ صدر أمر ملكي بتعينه رئيساً لمجلس الشورى، وفي 19 صفر 1430 هجري عين رئيسا للمجلس الأعلى للقضاء خلفا للشيخ [صالح اللحيدان].وفي 24/ 4 / 1433 هـ تم اعفاءه من منصب رئيس المجلس الأعلى للقضاء وذلك بناء على طلبه وعين مستشاراً بالديوان الملكي بمرتبة وزير إلى الآن.
الوظائف والمهام
له مشاركات مشهودة في المؤتمرات العلمية والعالمية- سواء ما كان منها عن طريق المسجد الحرام وشئونه أو ما كان عن طريق جامعة أم القرى أو الدعوات الخاصة، وقد حضر مؤتمرات علمية في القاهرة والرباط ولندن وأمريكا في عدة ولايات وفي باكستان وماليزيا وجنوب إفريقيا.
