Book Description
"البيت الذي يهمس" في أعماق قرية نائية غارقة في الصمت، تنتقل عائلة صغيرةإلى منزل قديم موروث. لكن الهدوء سرعان ما يتحول إلى كابوس حين تبدأ ليلى في سماع همسات ليليه وخدوش على الأبواب، بينما طفلها آدم يتحدث عن "صديق" يسكن في القبو، لا اسم له… لكنه يحب الأطفال.مع تصاعد الظواهر الغريبة – من ظلال لا تعكسها مصادر الضوء، إلى أصوات غريبة خلف الجدران – تكتشف ليلى مذكرات مرعبة لعم زوجها تحذر من كيانٍ قديم يُعرف بـ"الظل"، يتغذى على أرواح الصغار ويخدعهم باللعب والكلمات. تحاول العائلة النجاة عبر شيخٍ عجوز يدعى الشيخ حسنن، الذي يشرح أن "البيت لا يسكنه شبح... بل شيء لا يموت". أثناء محاولة طرد الكيان بطقوس قديمة يقتل الشيخ بطريقة مروّعة وهو يهمس قبل موته"مستحيل... إنه لا يموت..." رغم الصراخ والضحكات غير البشرية، تنجح ليلى أخيرا في طرد الكيان باستخدام آيات من القرآن بيقين مطلق، فينهار الظل ويختفي… لكن هل ذهب فعلًا؟
حين يغادرون المنزل، يهمس آدم من المقعد الخلفي بابتسامة غريبة:
"الشمس دافئة اليوم... لكنه ما زال يهمس لي.
