مريم هي صلة الوصل وشريان الدم الذي يغذي المقاومة - عماد هو المناضل الذي يؤدي المهمات بكل شجاعة ويحمل روح مريم وبصماتها، ناصر الذي اعتقل عدة مرات وحرم من زوجته وأطفاله، وغيرهم من الكثير الذين عاشوا القضية وأبقوا شعار مريم دستورهم الأبدي "كلنا للقضية... لا فرادى".
تابعت السيارة صعودها بين نباح الكلاب المحتجة، وصرخات الحراس الجامدة إلى أن توقفت بصرخة حارس آخر أمام السجن الكبير. بعد تداول الإجراءات ترجل ناصر من السيارة.
قبل أن يبتلعه ظلام السجن ألقى نظرة شاملة من الساحة المطلة على المدينة النائمة. كانت أضواؤها تشكل هالة مخروطية هائلة، شُحبت أطرافها متداخلة مع ظلام الليل العميق الذي ضاعت فيه حدود الضوء، كأنّ الظلام ازدرده خوفاً من إشعاعه المنير، أو كأنما النور قبل هذا النفاذ الناعس عبر الظلام الحالك يغذيه ينبوع ضياء لا ينضب ليحيل الكون كله إلى ضياء "إن الله نور السموات والأرض". صرَّ باب الحديد على مفاصل متألمة، فغر شدقاً بشعاً ليزدرد ضحية جديدة من ضحاياه التي اعتاد طعمها فألفه وأحبه، معلناً انتهاء مهمة الملازم…
