يخيل إلى أنه ليس هذا الديوان الفخم للشاعر الكبير الأستاذ: "محمود غنيم" قصيدة أو مقطوعة لم أمتع بها سمعى أو عينى من قبل؛ فالأستاذ "غنيم" شاعر مرموق المكانة، يقف فى طليعة الرعيل الأول من شعرائنا المعاصرين، وليس فى بلاد الغرب من لا يعترف له بذلك؛ لهذا لم أعان عنتا او إرهاقاً وأنا أعبر ديوانه: (صرخة فى واد)؛ لأقدمه إلى قرائه العديدين المعجبين فى مصر وسائر أقطار العروبة والضاد.
لمع نجم الأستاذ "غنيم" فى أفق الشعر الحديث، أثناء احتدام المعركة بين مدرستى العقاد وشكرى من وجهة، وشوقى وحافظ من جهة أخرى؛ أى: بين مذهبى الفكرة والأسلوب، وقد انجلت هذه المعركة عن صرعى كثيرين من الفريقين على السواء، ثم دار الفلك دورته، وظفر الأستاذ "غنيم" بديوانه هذا بالجائزة الأولى فى مباراة الشعر.
بالإضافة إلى هذا الديوان يشتمل الكتاب على ديوان "فى ظلال الثورة" وكذلك "رجع الصدى".
