دكتوراة تاريخ العصور الوسطى (تخصص وثائق جنيزا القاهرة) وقد تسائل البعض عن سبب اهتمامي بتاريخ مصر، وبخاصة ما يختص بتاريخ مدينة الإسكندرية في أبحاثي؛ وربما يعود ذلك إلى أن أصولي كانت جزء من التاريخ وأجدادي هم من اشتركوا في صنع التاريخ، فمن ناحية والدي، جدي الرابع حضرة صاحب السعادة «محمد حدايه باشا» محافظ الإسكندرية منذ عام 1920م/1339هـ وحتى عام 1923م/ 1342هـ، والمندوب فوق العادة والوزير المفوض لدي حكومة الجمهورية التركية وحكومة جلالة ملك بلغاريا، ومن ناحية والدتي افتخر بأني أنتمي إلى جدي «عزب» باشا التركي، وليس ذلك فحسب، بل وفق لما أخبرني به أجدادي أننا ننتمي إلى حضرة رئيس الوزراء «النقراشي» باشا- رحمة الله عليه- الذي قُتل على يد الإخوان الخائنين.
